This was a fun little weekend project a set of GI flashlights! I purchased a couple of real ones on eBay to model off of. I’m not sure exactly what era they are from, however since the switchs do not have the protective “wings” I’m guessing 60-70s.
OMG, I forgot about those!
I also used something similar for marshaling B-52G aircraft back in the 80’s but I seem to remember they were the black explosion proof models with those cones.
These lights are like everywhere, regardless of the year of your model. Having 28 years in the US Army I have seen both. Winged or wingless. But give facebook or You Tube a try…
Hi Mike,
As a side note, I’ve emailed cults3D owners on adding new categories for “Scale Modeling” and “RC modeling” to enhance the search function a bit to include our hobby and this is the reply I have received - basically, it’s too hard (did not say why) and ignored the scale modeling subject.
Hello,
Thanks a lot for your kind words about Cults, it’s much appreciated, we’re really proud and happy to read your message!
Also thank you for your feedback, we do already have a dedicated subcategory: https://cults3d.com/en/categories/rc-vehicles
On our side adding subcategories is not something easy at all unfortunately…
About the search, being able to search within a subcategory could be plus, we’ll investigate! They can already add many filters to their search for example https://cults3d.com/en/search?category_ids[]=97&q=car
Again a big thank you for your feedback!

Disappointing.
Maybe you can raise a concern, too? More voices we have, they’ll listen? Just a thought.
Yea, I’ll have to bug them too. What’s weird is they do have a category for trains so it would not be a stretch to add vehicles, aircraft, etc.
