1/16th US Tank Crew from Legend Productions | Armorama™

Here is a slightly unusual review as I am look at two releases of the same product and from the same company produced via different methods. here it is the 1/16th US Tank Crew from Legend Productions that I am looking at.

I would assume that the resin cast version is simply cleaned up 3D prints, do you think this isn’t the case ?

No it is my understanding that the poured resin are original and 3D printed are new. <Looking at them I feel the 3D option has the edge on crispness and had no breakages.

It’s obvious from Darren’s photos that the resin parts are exactly that, cast resin. The pour plugs are there and they are much different from the 3D printing *“pour plugs”.

Sorry JF I think Sean was suggesting or asking if the 3D printed parts had been used to create the moulds for the poured resin versions. I still do not believe that to be the case.

You are correct, that’s exactly what I’m suggesting.

I have been informed by the owner of Legend Productions that all products including previous releases are going to be upgraded to 3D printed offerings. This for me is a positive step as the quality of what I have seen here shows pin point detail and easier clean-up.

Probably those figures which were originally designed in 3D software… which were previously printed and used as masters for resin figure production. I know Peter Samofalov designed the last modern US figures in 3D and Legend offered them in resin.

I’d be very much surprised if all the traditionally sculpted figures in Legend portfolio become available as 3D printed offerings.

PS I’m not a big fan of 3D figures myself, I find resin figures much easier to work with.
