Starting this kit tonight! Even though i got 6 other projects going on (4 of them on this site), what’s one more :squinting_face_with_tongue:?…. I am gonna complete this one though, after looking over it and looking at reference pictures, there will be very little scratch building or trying to 3d print anything! I got some extras so i won’t have to spend too much time with the cockpit.

Got a quick update!

I know it needs cleaned up a bit but I’ll do that after the cockpit is done. Question… what color are the rudder pedals? I can’t seem to find and pictures, and i have a feeling they might be visible.

The pedals are a Light Ghost Grey colour, like the entire floor of the cockpit. It shouldn’t be black FYI!

I did not realize that! Good catch and thanks!

Cockpit is almost done… first time i used kelik 3d decals, i think i like them, no way could i have painted all those dials and buttons. Before i start the next part of the cockpit, does anybody have any pictures showing the ps controllers? I kinda want to put one on the pilots seat cause i messed up the seat belts

Got some more updates… i made some pretty decent progress with this kit

Ran into a little problem though… as i was sanding down the seam line, i also took out all the rivets, how can i replace them?

Archer rivets, like these:
Archer 1/48 & 1/32 Aircraft Rivets in Spiral & Circular Patterns (.23mm) AR88139

Or these:
Microscale 1/48 Aircraft Rivets Multiple Sizes AC48-0042 USA Waterslide Decals
They come in single and double rows

Got more updates

Question, what color is the pylon? I’ve seen multiple pictures and i can’t tell if it’s a really dark green or really dark grey

Also… what’s a good color for hellfire missiles

The hellfire rack is helo drab. Hellfires are arguably NATO black, they can fade quite a bit in operational environments.

the kit missiles leave a lot to be desired and the fins are way too thick. I am using the reskit K’s in my build.

interesting to hear they’re nato black in colour, I assumed it was a dark olive green, thanks for the information.

oh yes, best way to be convinced on this is to look at the hellfires next to a helo drab Apache. Helo drab is itself a dark grayish green, and the hellfire looks like faded black with some blueish hues next to it. A fresh one won’t have the fading.

I find NATO black nails it on the head

Ditto ^. I can confirm that Hellfires are black.

Thanks everybody for the info! I got some progress done…

Ran into a little problem, does anybody have experience with fine point gundam marks? I’m trying to give the missile racks some paneling, i got like half way done through one and the marker completely stopped working… anybody know why this happened and how can i fix this?
