1/35 LRDG and Bedouin horseman - completed side project

Just finished this one in tandem with the Killer project…

It was fairly straightforward except for sculpting the horseman, which was inspired by this wonderful photo…

And the scene by another great photo…

Anway, hope you like how it turned out. Thanks for looking!
Cheers,
Jeremy

Wow ! That’s a fantastic scene Jeremy! The truck came excellent and your figure painting is outstanding- love it.

A beautiful scene- such coloful figure work showing off a real talent for picking out those intricate details- showcased brilliantly on the Bedouin and his horse. But your LRDG figures are awesome too- those tanned and weathered faces and drab military clothes which show a nice contrast to the more colorful clothes of the horseman. The way the scene is posed too is well thought and the various pieces of kit make it authentic. The stowage and details on the truck are a joy to look at too- it just looks as heavily packed as you would expect for such long periods away from re-supply.

Beautiful Jeremy , I like that you went to the trouble to make your tree look like an acacia . I also dig the Falcon/Hawk/ raptor , very cool !!!

Very nice, Jeremy! Love the use of colours and the composition! Also there’s loads of little details that are just great, like the Bedouin’s hand holding the reins and the saddle details. Where are the figures from? They seem to have some unique and interesting poses that work really well here.

Brilliant concept so well done. I like the tactical choices you made with the rock for shadow cover and the solitary tree covering the tilt.

Thanks, Sam.
The two LRDG were these and then I changed an arm and the heads (beard and hair added).

The third LRDG figure in the duffel coat is a Miniart body with US figure legs from a Masterbox kit (3594) and modified hornet head (I added a beard and hair).

Tha Bedouin is a D-Day resin figure, mutilated and sculpted onto a Masterbox horse (35189) which has a great pose.

Thanks, Jerry. Building those was good fun, especially the rocks.

Thanks Glenn. Good tree spot. The falcon is an upgraded on from an original Mantis set.

Brilliant work.. this captured the North African experience that only a select few saw with their own eyes.. keep it up.

That is some brilliant conversion work on the horseman- I didn’t think it was a conversion because it looked so natural. The sculpting on the legs and his robes is first class!

Very well done.

Great idea for a diorama. looks like a spot they could ride the war out.

Wow that seen looks excellent.

Thanks, Robert.

Thanks, Greg. Be nice if it was by a beach…

Cheers, Ralph.

I’ve only just caught up with this, and an excellent piece it is too!

Fantastic work, just the right balance in my opinion, almost understated, but the detail is there as is the story and structure.

Outstanding modelling, and everything finished just about right.

Well done Jeremy.
