1/35 M142 HIMARS corrected cab (w/armor)

Will post progress here. Intent is to create a printable cab for the Trumpeter 1/35 M142 HIMARS kit. So far I’ve got the front, both sides, and the rear armor surfaces complete. I’ve also modeled the equipment bracket frequently found on the rear of the cad.
Still to do:
Roof armor with bolt and lift points
Hatch armor
That cylindrical device is above the front middle of the roof
Any picture of the roof with the add-on armor would be HIGHLY appreciated. Feedback welcome.

this post makes want to hold off on building mine

Roof detailed and cleaned up. Hatch area detailing added. A lot of estimating here but I think it’s pretty close.

Need to add the DVE sensor and bracket, the hatch mechanism and the hatch itself.

Outstanding.
I don’t have a HIMARS in the stash, and I’ll probably want one at some point.

I’ll try to make these available either as an .stl file or as a finished product from an aftermarket company.

I’d probably want one at some pint. Just because I don;t have one in the stash now doesnt mean I didn’t build as assload of them back in the day for Lockheed Martin Missile. Much easier than the MLRS’s. Still, it may be a while before I can look at one again.

Hatch and hinge mechanism added.

Done. Panel lines and other details added, model cleaned up, it’s ready to go.

The model was originally just the armor panels. It’s now a full up replacement cab.

Hope to make this available soon, either as an .stl or through an aftermarket company.

Love it love it love it! PLEASE make it available from an aftermarket company. Some of us have the Trumpeter kit, really have to have this cab, and are 3D printer destitute.

Very nice!
I have the use of printers at a local Maker Space, They are well worth the money spent if yoiu also happen to need a place to store a project or two, like the many bikes I keep tripping over. Also, the university my wife and I went to, and now my daughter, has quite the 3D lab which is available to students.

Very nice. Can’t wait to get one. Let me know when you are ready to offer a printed version.

Excellent! I’ll take a printed version also. Let me know the price and how to order. I’ve pulled the Trumpeter kit out of the stash a number of times and after looking over the cab decided “not today” and put it back on the shelf. Now it’s time to get a HIMARS on the shelf.

US to UK postage would be a killer, notwithstanding transit damage risk. STL file(s) may be a better possibility.

Found a few more things that needed to be added/corrected.

Hopefully the final tweak here. Added antenna mounts and revised the grill on the driver’s side.
