1/35 M142 HIMARS Corrections - Availability Status

I’ve finished my batch of HIMARS correction sets. There are three sets; the Armored Cab Conversion / Correction, the Exterior Equipment Set, and the Bumper.

Digital copies are available through cults3d here:
STL file M142 HIMARS Armored Cab Conversion / Correction - for Trumpeter 1/35 scale :taxi: ・3D printable model to download・Cults (cults3d.com)

I’m also looking to make physical copies available. My old 3D printer couldn’t handle some of the detail as sharply as I wanted so I just ordered a new one. I hope to be able to start producing and shipping parts next week.

If you’d like to order a set please send me a PM. Cost is $45 for the Cab and $35 for the Exterior Set and Bumper together + shipping.

Thanks!

Matt

Status update for those who have ordered some of these.

Unfortunately it’s taken me longer than I’d hoped to get my new printer up and running. The printer arrived Tuesday with damage that took two days to resolve. Then a defective flash drive and outdated firmware which took another two days. I was able to finally start calibration test prints Friday night and did manage to get the settings dialed in pretty quick but I’m still navigating a new slicer program which crashes if I try to make it do too much. I’m also still learning how to optimize each print

The good news is that the initial prints of the equipment set, bumper and cab parts look great and are cleaner and sharper than the parts from my old printer. However, the new parts need careful curing to minimize warp and so I’m now waiting on a cure box.

Bottom line, I anticipate it will be two weeks before I get through all orders. If you’ve already paid and don’t want to wait that long let me know and I’ll send a refund.

Apologies for the delays.

Completely understandable. These types of things happen and none of this is your fault, so no apologies are necessary. I doubt anyone has a HIMARS on their bench built up and waiting for a cab with a show date soon that they have a deadline for. So, no great rush. I would rather have an outstanding finished product, in due time. Carry on.

I received my cab today. It comes molded in two big parts: a rear wall and one side, front and other side along with the roof, and a small fret with detail parts. The doors are molded closed. I opened them, so disregard the sanding marks.

It also comes with a multi-page instructions manual on what to change on the kits to install it.

It looks great. Highly recommended.

Many thanks for the recommendation. I’m sure you’re going to make a great model with this one.

Status Update - I’ve started shipping and got two more packages out the door today. The remaining three orders will go out Tuesday after the holiday. Didn’t get a great print on a couple parts and am re-doing them. Apologies again for the delays and thanks to everyone for your patience.

If you’re interested, prints are on a Phrozen Mighty Revo printed with Phrozen Hyperfine Graphite resin at a layer height of 0.03mm. The xy resolution is 16.8µm x 24.8 µm. Models are sliced through Lychee Slicer with HD anti-aliasing enabled (which is crushing my graphics card).
You will have layer lines faintly visible in some places but I’ve done what I can to minimize them. The parts are significantly sharper than what I was able to get with my trusty old FormLabs 1+ which is pushing 7 years old at this point. Parts are rinsed in Isopropyl Alcohol and then given a 15 minute dry with a 5-minute UV cure in a Sunlu cure station.

I’m slicing the final parts to fill the last orders now. Should be ready to print in an hour when it’s done rendering.

Hi Titan, just have bought all your corrections on 3dcults and also invested in a small starter printer Elegoo Mars 4 DLP, as I always wanted to 3d print some small corrections on model kits. I am quite new in 3d printing world but was already able to print some smaller parts from your set with a decent result, however, still some adjustments on the printer setting are required. The real problem for me though is the cabin (the larger part). I am just not able to set it in a way which will not lead to a huge number of “islands” and consequently a ton of supports. If it’s not an issue maybe you could kindly advise the best positioning for this part. Thank you in advance.

I’ve added supported .STLs to the Cults3D site including one that should fit your Mars DLP. You should be able to download them from the model’s store page.
My arrangement looked like this.

Note that on the roof of the cab there are two small supports for one pair of the lift hooks that are built into the model. They are there to prevent islands and will have to be removed after printing.

I got my set yesterday in perfect condition, thank you so much! The parts are glorious in their precision and detail. And not a print line to be found anywhere! The parts are beautiful and perfect! Anyone thinking about getting this set - do it! The parts are not only more correct than Trumpeter’s - they are better quality than Trumpeter’s! Very very highly recommended!
