A lot of good work here. Question: Since the quad 50 mount appears to still be on the trailer, how was it stabilized on the truck bed? Blocked in w/wood? And the open ammo can on the M60 would not have the piece on the end of the ammo can as shown, as that was the locking flap permanently part of the can lid, which is not present.
Really like the weathering!

My understanding is the weight of the gun and mount (about 2 tons) was enough to hold it in place.

There was an installation kit for those trailers into the cargo bed when they were assigned to AAAW units. It was a framework that held the trailer in place, along with a winch to haul it up some PSP ramps.

Yup, the weight of the gun alone held them in place.

Where do I start? I hate to burst anybody’s bubble but there are quite a few things wrong with the Nancy model. A little more research would have been nice before starting this model. Nancy did not have a steel bed liner for one thing. There was also a wooden floor built up around the quad 50 in the bed. Oh, and I might add, Nancy NEVER had a bumper number 12. Out of the hundred pictures I’ve seen of Nancy, I’ve only seen one with that geisha image painted on the rear shield. That’s because it was only on there for a very brief period. 99% of the time the shield had nothing on it. By the way, the decals for the face on the turret shield are completely wrong.

It looks like the pic of Nancy from above has a box insert in the bed.

That’s only a small extension (box) attached to the rear of the bed for extra ammo. Nancy did not have a full steel bed liner like some quad 50’s had.

OK, good to know as I eventually plan on building “Nancy” as well.

Here’s a pretty good picture of the box added to the rear of the bed for extra ammo.

Is it basically the size of the tailgate? Also, do you have any pics of the wood platform?

Disregard, we discussed it at length, along with pics, at the below “Nancy” thread. I knew I had heard about it somewhere.
