1/35 Type 2 Ho-I Build

Howdy all, time for another IJA armor build. I’ve been focused a lot on wargaming pieces lately, and want to shift gears and do some scale models. This Ho-I from Finemolds is a neat one and I’m giving it a go. A neat vehicle, granted it’s a “paper tank” and never saw action, but will look neat in the lineup.

I did get the metal barrel from finemolds for it as well. I don’t know how much of a difference it realistically makes, but it seems a bit better looking from my perspective. Besides that, I plan to keep this build out of box with no aftermarket parts as of now.

Not pictured are all the wheels, because I someone completely missed putting them on. But they are painted as well. For the color, I am leaning towards a plain green like my Chi Ha, but may try the 3 color brown pattern

It was a real tank, around 30 made. They didn’t see action because they were saved for the main land defense.

Yes, sorry, mixing up my obscure Japanese tanks. Lol

Agreed! Last model show I went to, I didn’t see a single one. Love these funky designs.

There’s been some great looking ones on here. My skills have a long way to go but I’ll try to do them justice

All good. Built the kit a few years ago and that detail was still in the gray matter. You can paint as you wish but as I recall they were all parched green.

That sounds right. The box art has the fancy camo scheme but I have a fondness for the simple green look
