1/350 CV-6 Enterprise

I am currently building the Trumpeter 1/350 Enterprise with the Infini 1942 PE set. I can’t find any pictures of the forecastle deck or the stern deck as to color. I was thinking it would be deck blue since it is a horizontal surface, but since it is a lower deck, not the flight deck I was not sure. Could it possibly be gray not blue?
Any information or opinions are welcome.

According to this site, Enterprise wore Measure 11 and Measure 21 schemes in 1942. Here are the specs for painting.

Based on these, I’d say go with Deck Blue on the decks that you named.

Thanks for the info Stikpusher. Since I am doing late 42 I will be using Measure 21. I will go with the deck blue for the decks and 5-N for the vertical surfaces. I would guess the all the beams and framework under the flight deck at bow and stern would also be painted 5-N?

I agree; the forecastle and stern decks, although not open to the sky, were still weather decks and subject to overhead observation. As such would be covered under the “horizontal surfaces” specifications naming Deck Blue.

Yes, these were subject to observation from the side and were considered vertical surfaces just like the hull and superstructures.
