1/48 Bomb Truck

Looking for either/or … GMC M27 Bomb service, Gaso.line GAS48067KGMC CCKW 2,5t 6x6 recovery No.7, MP Originals Masters Models 48011

anyone

Curious if you’ve given though to scratching either of those.

Probably cost as much or more to buy what I’d need to make it. I beam, winch, chain, hook (pastic sheet I got.) Like cooking … have to buy a jar of something for 1/8th of a teaspoon… the rest goes in the back of the pantry until your next of kin clean the house out after you die.

If it’s bomb service you need, forget the Wrecker Set 7 - that was a maintenance rig for vehicle repair/recovery. As for scratching, the bomb service rig is mostly a single I-beam size so only one pack of Evergreen. The hoist pully rig is more of a challenge, but can be built up from sheet carved to shape. Either way, good luck!

I have the Gas.oline M27 bought from France, very very fragile, with a lot of resin flash, for the price, not worth the shipping to the UK.

If you have access to a resin printer (or access to someone who does) the Cults 3D may be of interest.
Federal_606 has a number of items such as GMC CCKW 353 m27(b1) bomb service body including the frame, winch, & movement rails at under $2.50, well worth it.

I have bought some of his STL’s but are still playing with my resin printer, & I have seen some of them printed at a Major UK hobby show, so they are usable.

I’d still bet a scratchbuild wouldn’t be that daunting:

I’ve bought several of his designs and they are not bad at all. But they are designed to fit his own chassis, so you have to do a little fiddling to the frame rails on the underside of the bed to get them to fit a plastic kit. No biggie, but best to be warned. And it’s 1:35 scale, so whoever prints it needs to scale it down in their slicer software to 1:48.
