1/48 FAA Corsair

Does anybody make a conversion kit for the clipped wing FAA Corsair II? I’m nor seeing one. Looks like a simple Mod, but usually if it looks easy it aint. Also, any info on squadrons formed at Squantum with Corsair IIs? I know 1833 (?) formed there with Is and transitioned to IIs at Brunswick prior to going back across the pond.

It’s an easy conversion, just file 1/8 inch off the wing tip to flatten it. This article will give you lots of info on FAA squadrons. There is good info on what the differences were as clipped wings and air scoops added to side of fuselage on FAA version.

In was thinking of purchasing one of these later this year when my bench frees up. Not sure of it’s accuracy.

I seem to remember there were issues with it. Dont remember what, but… This might help… Corsair Mk.2, HobbyBoss 80395 (2015) Couple pointers I’ve come to … sounds like the vents were added by the Brits on their side of the pond. AIrcraft at Quonset Point and Brunswick probably did not have them. (Photos dont seem to show them.) Would the Sutton harnesses been added then too? As for the underside, even after the adoption of the ANA specs in 43 Grumman continued to use the Dupont equivalent colors for lend lease aircraft, but the other makers (Eastern Aircraft ,Vought) used ANA colors. Eastern using ANA610 (FS34424 ) … I use Vallejo71.103. Vought appears to have used ANA602(FS 36440)
