1/48 Trumpeter 02860 J-7B Fighter
It has been quite some time since I’ve last posted. the Spring festival holidays, house renovation, Hong Kong Sevens etc.,
After my mediocre attempt on “Cougar’s” F-14, I contemplated on starting something on the 1/48 line still. So when a box of Trumpeter “J-7B Fighter” popped out of my stash, so I think it’s fitting to make a start with it.
The build was fairly easy going. Although painting was hempered by problems with my airbrush nozzle being clogged up with paint, and I had to pause and unassemble the brush to clear out the lumps of paint, as I tried to create a semi-gloss white mixing XF-2 and X-2, but seems the consistency of this mixture is a bit of a problem.
Yet application of decals was the more troubling part, as there are so many tiny stencils, which I don’t recall seeing on actual aircraft, they should be more applicable for the later generation J-7E/G series, but not wanting to waste them, I followed the instruction and applied them painstakingly.
The markings are of “Red 08” of the 9th Air Division based at Foshan-Shadi Airbase, Guangzhou Military Region.
