1990's Squad at Parade Rest

I’m working on a dio of an M113 crew with an equipment layout. I needed 9 figures wearing BDU’s and standing at Parade Rest. This proved to be a search for hen’s teeth. Figures in BDU’s are scarce, and none were posed anywhere close to Parade Rest. The closest I found was the now vintage “US Rangers” figure set from Dragon.

So, like any other insane modeler I set about to reposition these figures into what I wanted. Or close enough … At least the Dragon kit had the sleeves rolled up.

The figures went from this

to this … in about 6 months of sporadic effort

Great to see! I recently posted a topic (“Cold War Figures - a suggestion”) on adapting and making one’s own figures as there’s next to nothing out there - and tried to encourage people to consider converting what they have to what they want - and Lo! And behold! Nice to see Brian!

Parade, rest!

Nicely done. Figures have always intimidated me, which is probably why I don’t do them. The BDUs look great.

There’s no quesiton aboit it. That’s great work. I’d like to see how much you had to twek the arms.
I’ve wanted something similar for quite some time. I thought about making molds of the arms in this photo:

Looks a bit closer to “At ease” or “Rest” as opposed to “Parade Rest”. But in any case, they look damn good!
