Anybody know which Stug Abt.was attached to 22nd Panzer in Crimea? I think it was 197, but I think 190 and 192 were in Crimea too. Had info specifying which were at Sevastopol and which were further east but cant re find it.
There are three text references of actions by Sturmgeschütz Abt. 190 in Osprey’s Sevastopol 1942, the other two are not mentioned.
The 22nd was not involved in Sevastopol. They were east, around Feodosia, Stary Krym, Sudak area.
There’s this; PIXPAST
Sorry, I thought you wanted Stug units involved at Sevastopol. I don’t seem to be able to determine the make-up of Pz. Rgt. 204 beyond this;
204.Panzer-Regiment
- Formed with two Abt. each with three Beute-Pz.Kp. on 5 Jul 41.
- Assigned to Pz.Brig.101 in Jul 41.
- Assigned to 22.Pz.Div. on 25 Sep 41 and converted to german tanks.
- III.Abt. formed on12 Apr 42 with two light and one med Kp.
- III.Abt. renamed Pz.Abt.127 on 1 Oct 42.
- Remnants of the regiment were incorporated into Pz.Rgt.11 on 10 Feb 43.
- The regiment was officially disbanded in Mar 43.
No mention of Sturmgeschütz units.
I’d seen this pic (and another one) showing Stug Abt. 197 being with 22nd Panzer. Saw something in print that (I think) that confirmed that. I think the Stug Abt. were at Army /Corps level and assigned to divisions as needed, so would not be on division’s TO&E.
