3D 105mm light howitzer. L118

I’ve been test building the British version of the 105 light gun …nice little model .needed some additional bits to bring it up to date .it has early and late wheels and different types of claps again early and late …also the linaps system…

Nice. Just needs a PinzG towing it now for a cool little scene :+1:

you’ve done a fantastic job on that 3D print, well done indeed.

That is looking good.

Is this your own design or the Vargas L118/M119 kit?

No it’s not the Vargas kit …I have that one and I have to say this one is streaks ahead of the Vargas one …detail is finer and much more up todate …it’s going to be released once I’ve done the test build

Cool, thanks. I thought it looked better.

I saw the Vargas kit at the IPMS Nationals. (USA) Yours is far superior.
And since I have a history with the gun I pointed out a few things he could improve on. He said guys like me ruin the hobby, and he wasn’t changing anything.
I quietly put my credit card back in my pocket and moved on.

Will it come with the shorter US M119 barrel as well?

Very cool. Can it be built in the travel position (barrel backwards)?

Hi ya yes can be built in firing position or towable ….early /late pattern wheels .iron sights as such or computer controlled sight system …

I understand that only the British version by that may change

I definitely want one of these, especially with the option of early & late builds, the detail apparent on this is streets ahead of the Vargas, I’m glad I passed on that one.

As the son of a (RA) Gunner, I take an interest in this, having been present at many Larkhill open Days, and having seen & heard it fired.

@HeavyArty, Gino, I’m informed the M119 US version is chambered for the US 105 shell.
99% sure The Brits used the M119 in BATUS, Alberta training area, CN.

Yes, the M119 uses the US/NATO 105mm shell. On the US version, the barrel is shorter, and it has a different muzzle brake, among a few other changes. Hopefully they provide them as an option to build a US M119.

The US crews are generally better looking.

If you plan on the US version, I have a comprehensive walkaround that I can share with you.

As do I. But H-H - maybe you can share your Vargas experience with the group.

No experiences. I contacted him and offered my references. He took it and then NADA. NO more deals with him.
