Please let me know when and how I can buy one of these.
I’ll inform you as soon as I have news.
Next is the HEMTT M985E1GMT.
As I thought, responding through email does not impact here…
That is well within the size limits of my Elegoo Saturn 2 to print as one piece. PM me if you want me to try printing it.
I have the same printer.
Going to print it standing up.
Should work, and within margins.
I cant see from the images, but are you going to print the cable drums with the power wires already on?
I built a fuel tanker with (hose reels) printed like this and just adding on a length of hose made a really convincing job of the look.
Or, for a little extra $ you could offer the modeller a choice of empty of part-full cable drums.
The drums are empty, still thinking about going with cable versions or not.
How would you guys like it?
It’s no bother for me to add the cables.
I think it would be better with the cables on the reels.
Even though I have done a walk around of everything possible at Ft. Sill at some point, as with many of those things this is not something I can envision building. However, for those who might want to incorporate it into an eventual Patriot battery, is seems to me that cables on the reels limits them. With cables off the reels you still have the option of spooling the cables onto the reels or extending them away from the unit.
I agree Gino. Running a length of wire/cable from a nearly-full reel would be my preferred method.
Looking at the two posts above and taking these as a cross-section of opinion, I think you’ll make alot of modellers happy if you included empty and nearly-full reels into the set.
Ok, I can do that.
Next up is designing a HIAB 8108-2 crane for the M985E1GMT. The load bed is already done.
Full reels done:
And got the HIAB 8108-2 in the corect position:
I want to gamble I can even make it movable, a small kit… this is going to be fun.
And yes, I switch colors when drawing.
Nice. Will any of these be available to buy? .slt files preferred.
Also designing the crane for the M1074.
Going to make a folded and extended version of both cranes.
I only have 2 poor pictures of the new crane that goes on the new HEMTT A4 Patriot supply truck.
It certainly looks very good
