Thank you for the assist
When I click on his name, or your name, it brings up user stats, post history etc, I dont seem to see a message icon or link to the right to send a PM or chat.
You’re clicking on the Bold user name, correct?
I get this:
The only thing I can think of is that you might have to have a certain number of posts to have certain permissions. Other motorcycle boards I’m on are like that.
Since your name is in gray and not bold black, I suspect this may be the case. When I click on your name I can message you but not chat.
That’s what I suspect as well, new user, lack of posts.
Well, I guess unless Simon messages me in private first, I’ll just have to wait out my restricted status.
I see the same as you have posted MINUS the message tab etc.
I’m knee deep in Helo builds, I’ll focus on the Seahawk and Zulu builds until I have my Apache add ons. ![]()

Do tell! I think you’re able to post photos by now.
Lets see if this works
Takom, mostly dry fit. Reed Oak pilots, 3 D pit, the kit fits like a glove, as lamented by many, instructions could be better, but dry fitting and good reference photos sort things out.

Great work, I’m interested. If you see this send me message pls as I’m currently restricted being a new guy ![]()
I just purchased the Meng Saraf, looking forward to making the cockpit correct as it’ll be so visible.
Order made, can’t wait for the cool extras, I’ll post pics once they arrive.
It’s hard not to go crazy with aftermarket stuff, especially niche products. I opted for the cockpit set and the feed chute for my Meng AH-64D Saraf as those two spots are what my eyes will focus on, guns and cockpit.
Being in Canada everything adds up, exchange, shipping etc, had to draw the line somewhere.
Great!! I study the options to upgrade my Saraf (Meng) with block II takom cockpit parts and some after market solutions, probably an expensive solution…
I prefer use this money in a very good up grade set
Hi working on Meng kit. Got the 3-d cockpit decals thru Amazon. Took over a month and had to pay shipping even w/ Prime but wasn’t too bad. One mistake I made was installing the sticks early, so could not attempt decals on them. I probably would have ruined them anyway trying to sand off the surfaces. Also accidently airbrushed the cockpit X1 instead of XF1 before seats and decals were put in. So way to shiny and will spray with heavy matte coat now. The 3D decals first aid kit handles both broke off just from lifting them with tweezers.
One issue I have with this kit is how general they are with paint colors. Like they say to paint the entire rotor hub and mast assembly almost all steel colored. But just a cursory google image search shows that is way off. They might as well get more detailed in their painting instructions considering how detailed the kit is. Yours is looking good. I am doing this one with blades folded and all access panels and cockpit glass (that kit has options for) open.
I think that you are supposed to soak it like a decal and then apply it with glue.
Yes did that, not sure what you think I did? I used superglue after brief soak. They take much less time to loosen on the backing paper than most normal decals. They expect you to sand off the surface details like buttons, etc before applying. I could not do that on the control sticks or cyclic sticks because I had already glued them in place before starting decals. And they are so fragile to begin with. So I just dabbed some tiny dots of yellow and red on them and called it good. I doubt an AH-64 pilot will ever look up close into this models cockpit ![]()
I’m unable to message you due to being a new account. But I am currently embarking on the Takom 1:35th AH-64E Apache Guardian and would absolutely LOVE to be able to get these print files. PLEASE sir haha! Thank you.
