New MiniArt Kit Coming Soon: 53011 Kleine Feldküche Hf.14 w/Crew
Looks like another great addition to the growing variety of non combat WW II kits being released. Good range of added equipment and the figures have interesting poses. I really like the detail on the kitchen. It looks like it’ll build up nicely!
Given the goofy grin on his face that figure carrying the bird is looking forward to a big meal….unless he’s hugging it as it’s his ‘special friend’ in which case we’ll just give them some quiet time.
Also bonus points for no one wearing a chef’s hat!
I like the box art of gent splitting wood, unfortunately you have a different pose in the box. Looks like someone wasn’t communicating information correctly.
I’d say the actual figure’s more realistic than the box-art, but totally agree it’s irritating when there’s a mis-match between the two. Maybe I’m wrong but it looks like the box-artist was given the initial brief, and the sculptor was told to replicate the art-work…and rightly baulked at the axe-man. Strange way of running a railroad. More importantly, where’s Nigella?
Totally agree. A side swing as shown in the box art could
end up anywhere.
A suggested reading for everyone interested in the Feldküche theme.
From the book. Dishes cooked for original military recipes with a Feldküche. They said the taste was doubtful.
" Given the goofy grin on his face that figure carrying the bird " … Wonder if that is to Germans what sheep are to Scots? (Dont listen to it. Sheep always lie!) Adds a whole new meaning to “Goose”…
Tamiya had one out in the 70s (?) . Mini art has had the Soviet one out for decades (Think theirs is a rebox of another former Warsaw Pact kit.). Fine molds has an IJA one. (along with horse drawn supply cart) . And ICM (rcently came out with a ruck mounted US field kitchen. Seen several truck mounted German ones too. (Beute AHN (?) and Steyr Ostschlepper.)
Kinda like “Never trust a restaurant that doesnt have a few roaches. If THEY wont eat here you probably shouldnt either.”
My intent was not which is more correct or efficient but which is more dramatic.
The side swing is certainly more dramatic
