80' to 2000's US AFV crew?

I don’t understand why any company has not made 80’s - present US AFV crew in pose in vehicle hatches. There are all types of WW2 crew figures… Am I missing something here…

Dragon came out with a set of US tank crew figs I believe that can be used for the 80-90s I think and Verlinden has a few figures as well.

Also, Valkyrie, DEF model Miniart and Alpine make various US tank crew figures from the 2000s I believe.

The problem with all of these figures is that they are wearing BDUs. Starting around 1987-88 most tank crews, and anybody else who could get their hands on them, were wearing the Nomex CVC uniform (looks a lot like a flight suit). There are very few figures made wearing this uniform.

I didn’t know when the cvc suits came into use, I thought it was much later. But anyway there’s still a decent amount to choose from for the earlier 80s. I think Warriors and Verlinden came out with US tankers with cvc suits on, plus various types of body armor. I guess you’ll have to pick a specific time period.

Another example would be Miniarts US Army and USMC tankers. I think both sets are wearing cvc suits. I have the US Army set, they aren’t very good imho.

They came into use because of the flammability issues of the 120mm ammo in the M1A1. They were mandatory for M1A1 crews, and recommended for other armor crews.

Check out Miniart #37008-USMC tank crew, they have the overalls mentioned above.

Also their US Tank crew set 37005 they are all wearing the NOMEX coveralls.

This Tamiya kits includes 2 1/2 figures but they are in BDU,s

Hope that helps your search. Quick note, that Tamiya gives 2 spruces so you end up w 2 commanders and 2 drivers plus odd little parts to load up a tank etc with.
