A day at the museum - Museum of American Armor - Bethpage, NY

This past Saturday June 8th, and friend and I took my Dad to the Museum of American Armor in Bethpage, Long Island, NY. We hadn’t been there since 2018-19 as I recall. The model club I’m in hosted one show that I remember, maybe a second. Both were very successful.
Apparently they’ve added some newly acquired vehicles to the museum. They are mostly outside. Here are some pics, enjoy!

The vast majority of the vehicles are inside and packed very closely together. There’s also a railing around them which made it impossible to get around them for different views except from a distance. The ones in the middle of the place one could walk around completely. I stated out with some British vehicles. I’ll post more later today.

Hey Richard! I had no idea this museum existed. It’s an easy 2 hour drive from my house in Connecticut. You just gave me my club’s summer field trip! Thank you! It looks like a lot of good stuff.

Yeah it’s a great museum. They are running out of space inside because they keep acquiring more vehicles. Almost everything in the museum runs except for the stuff outside I was told. They offer rides on the half tracks from time to time.
I took dozens of pics and will keep adding them today. Wish I could have gotten more detailed shots but time was limited. It’s about a 20-30 minute ride for me. Let me know if you guys go, maybe we can meet up.

I would love that Richard. I’ll keep you in the loop.

Yes let me know. I also have some kits to get rid of from my stash, maybe you guys can take them off my hands? Lol

We will gladly take them as donations to the Armorcon raffle.

Yeah that’s him. Great modeler and even better person! I don’t go to many of our club meetings because of work but when I do I usually see him.

Here’s some of an Israeli M48. One picture shows what I’m told is an RPG hit to the towing pintle in the rear.

Nice pics Richard- in particular it is great to see some stowage on the vehicles- the hamper on the Dingo is classic touch!

Thanks Karl. This museum does an excellent job on these vehicles but also as you stated, these little touches of authenticity.

As I recall, some of the vehicles at this museum were purchased from the Armor museum in Danbury when it closed a few years ago.
