A Namer of a question

I have the MMK Samson 30mm rcws and want to slap it on Meng’s new Namer; I have Merkava 4 tracks and drive sprocket, and was wondering what’s this in the red circle. It is where the usual remote control weapon station would go, but does not look like the base for one. More like an elevated periscope. Any insights, please?

Thanks for clarifying! This indeed looks like some kind of sighting device. Unfortunately I don’t have more photos of this experimental vehicle.
