The clear parts are attached from the inside (the clear view ports were also painted clear blue from the inside). Thus, instead of making lots of masking tape to cover them up, opted to paint them first (the exterior parts) before attaching the clear parts. But when it’s time to glue the roof on gaps were all around and putty saves the day. Sanding, re-priming and re-painting is easier than cutting lots of small tape, aligning them and still, paint may seep in during painting. Hope this helps ![]()

Whatever works for you, of course, but I would have chosen to mask the periscopes
Of course, I generally paint periscopes anyway, even clear ones.
