Abrams Turret Serial Numbers

does anyone know what the exact system for these serial numbers is? I can’t seem to find much official documentation. (eg, M, E, ect.)

AFAIK, U indicates a turret with depleted uranium armour.

Always a focal point for me when I take photographs.

Thanks for sharing.. BTW - when did the EMPIRE use Abrams…? That Imperial Symbol makes it unique; what Star Wars Fan unit had that interesting marking?

Funny, when I was on tanks, we never even paid any attention to those numbers. Maybe the mechanics did, but the crew, no.

That’s the difference between people who use things and people who are enthousiasts about those same things

And it’s something to keep in mind as a balance to those insisting that the recollections of crews and other veterans have more credence than documents and photographs. (e.g. Belton Cooper in Death Traps regarding stabilizers in T26E3s.)
