Amusing Hobby shows Abrams X box art and images of test build.
I’d be willing to bet my right testicle the final version will look very little like the kit. Interesting though…
I find it extremely fascinating that Amusing Hobby got a lot of the shape and details correct appearance-wise, especially when the US Army and GDLS are so tight-lipped about this.
Very few drawings, photos, specifications, information, scales, etc. exist of this AbramsX prototype online. I wouldn’t say that Amusing Hobby guessed on a lot, but they sure seemed to have an accurate scale model of the AbramsX as if they were there at AUSA to take photos of it.
I don’t know, there seems to be ample information on this prototype out there, that there is even a GTA mod for it and several 3D renders and printable models.
The question will be, how accurate are they all to the actual thing when it appears?
Abrams X is not a US Military test vehicle nor program. It is only a technology demonstrator by General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS). Most likely, the next generation Abrams will look nothing like it.
@18Bravo, I bet your left testie you’re correct, & that it will not be camo’ed like that, but it makes for a pretty model.
Clearly not my video, credit to who owns it, posted for discussion only.
This will be a great kit for the “what if” contest section. Agree this will probably not look like whatever eventually becomes the M1E3.
Fun looking kit though.
I like the idea of this kit built up as a stateside Abrams and n 3-color NATO scheme.
It fits the Rule of Cool very well, with the added bonus down the road of a ‘how much does the M1E3 look like this?’ game.
