Academy 1/48 CH-53E Grail Score!

well folks for the last 2 years i have been trying to acquire an MRC/Academy 1/48 CH-53E but I wanted one at a sensible price and not some of ridiculous prices found on ebay.

I managed to get one for just over £90, I’m not sure what that is in US dollars but I’m sure it’s not 350-400$.

now there is a catch but I am not concerned, the previous owner had got ridden of the box for storage reasons and only kept one of the boxes’ side panels. All the parts are there and in excellent condition, the only thing I can see is the cockpit canopy glass has come loose from it’s sprue.

so, I now have an original kit complete with the sponsons etc that were damaged on the molds so is there anyone out there, preferably in the UK that could scan these parts and remake them using a 3D printer? if we can remake these items then people would have the missing parts to convert the 1/48 Sea Dragon to a Super Stallion.

Nice score. It is a very nice kit. Good luck with it.

@18bravo oh no it doesn’t, I still wanna convert my sea dragon back to a super stallion, that way I can have a matching pair so you better get cracking mate :rofl::rofl::rofl:

@HeavyArty I wanna go all in on this so I need to clear the bench and purchase some accessories, especially the folded rotors as storage will be difficult otherwise.
