Now that is one stunning A-10. I love that plane ever since I read a small articel ina belgian newspaper that the Us had put a new “ugly” plane in the field to combat Russian tanks. I never nderstood why people said it was “ugly”; it looks like a perfect “designed for purpose” to me.
Jim, I feel bad that I’ve still not finished my Academy A-10C. I got sidetracked to finish a half-built 1/35 T-34/85 tank, which is no good excuse, as that tank is only one of at least a dozen models that I’ve started and not yet completed. I’m at the point of finishing the decals on my A-10C, and then attaching the final parts (flaps, canopy, etc.) and then weathering, but I’ve been paralyzed at the thought of putting on the warthog decals that wrap around the nose. Decals have become my model building arch-nemesis, and I can’t tell you how many I’ve messed up and/or destroyed, and with this particular set of decals, there are no duplicates to be purchased. If I screw up the hog face, the build is pretty much trashed. So, I’ve been holding off. Not sure when (or if) I will get over my trepidation, though I really want to complete this airplane!

I know what you mean Curt @cabasner , but I’ve reached the point in my building where I just try to go for it and not worry too much about the consequences. My nose decals have a couple of small wrinkles but they can barely be seen with the naked eye. For the bits I know will be difficult I make sure the finish is especially glossy, and have great luck with microset and microsol. Just go for it and good luck to you my friend!
