I hope you are happy now as I have all three of the HobbyBoss A10’s and now I have bought the Special Hobby release of this model.
Thanks John. Thanks Darren @CMOT that does make me happy! I actually didn’t realise the Hobby2000 kits were reboxes of this Academy kit, nice.
The engines and weapons are attached along with the landing gear. And the job I kept putting off, the seat is painted!
Just the tyres to weather and maybe the windscreen to tint, might leave this as worried about messing it up.
Looking very mean and ready to ruin someones day … really love this one … great work Jim
This looks great! One of my all time favorite aircraft and this one does it great justice.
Thanks John @Johnnych01 and Cory @corsutton. I feel this is one of those modelling itches well and truly scratched, also one of my favourite subjects, and finally finished!
Calling it done for now. Going on a “holiday” walking Hadrians wall from coast to coast so wanted to get the workbench cleared before that. May visit it later for more weathering, as chipping is a thing on these, and tint that bloomin’ screen…
Things I’d do differently, there is a very slight step from the nose to the front cockpit part which I noticed and meant to address but then completely forgot until too far in. Also would probably use a less dark panel line wash.
The def model parts are great and highly recommended, I used the ejection seat, wheels, nose gun, engine intakes and thruster.
An enjoyable build and so nice to actually finish a build, it’s been a minute!
Genuinely one of the best I have seen built.
Looks fantastic! Thank you for sharing!

Absolutely outstanding Jim, a real beauty.
Not a wing thing guy but I do like the A10, one of my favorite modern aircraft. Yours is a beauty. Nice loadout.
Many thanks @Johnnych01 @justsendit @SSGToms @Armorsmith , it’s been my pleasure and it’s great to get back in the groove. Still can’t quite believe I have one on my shelf now!
Oh, and it seems I have been demoted to a mere member so can’t edit the title. Could one of you kind sirs please use your exalted status and add a full stop then “Finished” to the title of the thread.
Thanks again!
Done
Excellent, thanks John mate!
Outstanding built! Good job made.
Awesome build! One of my favorite planes, and you’ve done it justice!
BRRRRRRRTTTTTTTT!!!
Great looking hog Jim.
Thanks @Quartercav @CKPlasticModels @Tank_1812. I’m actually surprised not to see more of them on here.
Just noticed the squinty front wheel in the last pics but haven’t glued them in place yet.
Thanks again all!
Jim, thank you for finishing your A-10C and posting those great pictures! Really a great job!!! Now you’ve forced me to continue work on completing my own Academy kit. Just a few days ago, I got the long awaited Great Wall Hobby A-10C, and I’m not sure that it’s going to be a substantial improvement over this Academy plane. Regardless, a wonderful job, and very motivating, for sure!!
outstanding work!!!
Its a beauty
Great job, good lookin’ Hawg.
Good Grief . . . this is why I don’t build airplanes. You have an exceptional little Tank Buster there Jim, get that doll under glass ASAP, don’t want no dust on this bird. That glossy canopy just glows.
