man this looks awesome, are planning to build a diorama for it?
Thanks guys!
@Erik67, Masterpiece? I doubt it… but it should look decent enough ![]()
@Klaus-Adler, nope, no diorama planned for this one. There are one of two possible shelves for it to go on in my display room… and space is limited… ![]()
Today I was able to airbrush on a coat of Polly Scale Desert Storm Sand, plus some Tamiya CARC/NATO Green in selected areas. It came out ok, but not quite as good as intended, since the polly Scale paint was not performing optimally, alternating between tip dry and splatter…
we shall see how much free time that I get in the coming week to hopefully get this thing wrapped up soon…
It looks good to me. Great job.
Looks excellent in CARC Tan Carlos, I don’t see any problems with it.
I used Poly Scale CARC Tan many times. You’re right about tip clogging though, the early release of that paint back in 1991? or so was challenge to spray.
Thanks guys! Now comes the part of painting all the stowage items… ![]()
Damn man, that looks great.
Thanks Petro. I’m hoping to have some free time soon to get more work done on this…
More progress on this over the past weekend… I was able to get the basic colors onto the stowage, aside from the tow cable, spare track shoes, and the tie down straps…
hopefully I should have more finished by the end of next weekend…
It’s coming along well. Nice job on the details.
Thanks Gino. Slow and steady on the detail painting. Hopefully only a few more bench sessions to get this finished.
Couple of things:
The different color where the side skirts were is a nice touch.
And resin stowage always looks better than the cheap plastic stuff.
Well done!
would be T130E, T130 are the earlier Vietnam era tracks and there is differences in them in both the rubber and steel (also improved bushes). my T130E1 link shown here has a worn pad but you can see in the second pic they are a wider footprint

You’re right! Damn these indy link tracks, as they are glued in place and I can’t fix it. I’ll have watch for that on my next 113.
Nice progress Carlos the stowage is looking phenomenal. Don’t worry about your track direction, we never did. It didn’t throw a track if you put it on backwards.
Even the Great Ones get it wrong sometimes:

Second time I’ve said that in two days.
These online photos are horrible. I may have to dig out my copy. One track is on Backward. Maybe to confuse the enemy as to which way the tank was going. ![]()
Right turns are easier ![]()
That depends. I have no problem drifting left and roasting my tire. Drifting right not so well - I think I worry about damaging my pipes.
As for Shep’s M51 - I can’t believe no one at any point in time said “Dude, your track is on backwards.” After all, it was only for the cover of a book.
Who knows - maybe he actually had a photo of one like that. I’ve seen some with individual links reversed.
