Adhering plastic to wood

I’m planning on making a maintenance area diorama on a base, but I’m not sure how to adhere the sheet plastic to the wood base.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

3M Spray Mount, or its equivalent. I use it all the time.

How long does it lasts or does it start to peel up in time?

I’ve yet to find anything that JB Weld couldn’t join (haven’t tried water and Jello yet, but someday perhaps). A thin coat of JB Weld would hold until the wood rots away.

However, contact adhesive (i.e. rubber cement) should work fine–same stuff used to stick laminate to countertops or vinyl flooring to underlayment.

That’s exactly what Spray Mount is - sprayable rubber cement.

That should hold for 10 to 15 years.

Spray craft adhesive would certainly be a good option, but if he wants to be sure then I still favor contact cement specifically formulated for vinyl tile or laminate. I have a variety of craft spray mounts available to me in my local hobby/art/craft/DIY/pet/liquor store. Different formulas depending on how strong and/or permanent you want the bond to be.

Thank you very much for all the information you guys have given me.

I missed this. I’ve used it to attach leather to metal motorcycle seat pans. Never had it come off.

Expoxy. Good for large resin pieces as well.
