AFV Club. I don't get it

From a concurrent thread, by you:

That’s because you “get it.”
You care,

Again, from above:

When someone points out a shortcoming, error, or a way to do it better, your idea of “quality” won’t let you just “settle.”

When some people say things like “It’s the camera,” or “It adds character,” or “It doesn’t bother me,” then they have ceased to care. Or they ignore your comment altogther. Which is absolutely fine. Their build - their level of satisfaction. But if they cease to care about their own build, why should I?

The funny thing is, these very folks say, “I build for myself, not to impress anyone else.”

Wonderful. I’m happy for you. It shows.

Then why post every almost every step of every build, and say things like “All comments are welcome?”

You’re asking to be judged. The problem is some folks are unhappy with the judgment. And we all judge. Whether we say it out loud or suppress it out of a sense of decorum or pity, we look at a build and think, “Voof!” or “I think I’d have done it this way,” or “Why did he leave it like that? Did he not care?”
Other times we look and say “Holy Cow! That is impressive. I wish I’d have thought to do that.”
And again, sometimes we comment, and sometimes we say “Why bother?”

If nobody cared what other people thought this site would shrivel up and die.

Mike you posted while I typed the above.

I agree.
