Hello, I am assembling AFT track links on my Kinetic M109 and not sure what glue to use as the plastic the tracks are made of seems different. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
Liquid glues work fine.
Liquid cement is your answer for the long run on the bottom. If you want to be able to still have the rest of the tracks flexible enough to work around the sprocket and have the correct sag you can apply a dot of rubber cement to each pin, It’ll hold the connectors in place and allow you to manipulate the track,
If you’re very lucky you can cement the bottom run, and assemble the rest of the track without any adhesive. It’s tricky but it can be done, After you get the track the way you want it, run liquid cement along all of the joints where the end connectors meet. Do this for the rubber cement method as well.
I used the above method for this build and it works well.
The first thing I would check is to see if the end connectors stay on without glue. If they do, you’re done there and then — just assemble the track with no glue at all, paint them, wrap them around the wheels, and adjust their sit until they look natural.
If you do need to glue them but don’t know what with, just take some bits of sprue from the tracks and see if your regular model glue sticks them together. If so, use that; if not, try again with different glue.
