Airbrushing indian ink

Hi all,
I mostlypaint aluminum foil or aluminum colored packing wrap with transparent color like red, blue, green or viridian colors and glue it on transparent parts to use it on my armored vehicle visors. I mostly used tamiya clear colors up to the present with no problem. But i wanted to make a change, when i tried to airbrush translucent indian ink it has created islands on surface because of surface tension, i’ve tried flow improver, glycerine and retarder it didn’t work. Finally i’ve sprayed it with an acrylic varnish to bind pigments, that didn’t work also, do you have any solutions about that?
