Righto I’ve done the above and added a few ‘improvements’ to the kit. Instead of spending another £20 on the eduard set I’ve done what I can myself, the results are,
Headlight guards cut out and card put in,they do clean up!
Water jets cut and new vanes in,
New engine cooling grill
Lots of cutting and plastic card but it’s ‘fun’![]()
That’s pretty much all that was done to the hull, the suspension Airfix have actually got spot on so no need to mess around with that! Onto the load bed bulkhead for some obscure reason the lift handles have been moulded onto it and the rest of the handles are separate parts
sooo
Out with the saw and as you can see a tad to much came off
more card needed,
The other four were much too thick so I sanded them down to a better size, that is a general criticism of this kit some parts are way to thick!
Jacko
Just a bit of work done in the cab,
Kit BV out
New one from AA in,
Heating pipe running along the side of the cab,and the steering levers for the water jets removed.
Jacko
Ok some surgery done to the cab itself,
Cab roof with the kit grills and then removed to make way for the SMM grills and crane controls.
Kit fuel pipe cut off and a new one put in.

Nicely done mate …. good job with those scratched areas.
Good stuff mate
Onto the windows,I tried to cut off the moulded on wipers and failed miserably,so I got some clear card and made my own,
First attempt and the windows didn’t go in flush,
So the ledge around the windows was removed,
Attempt two
Windows in and wipers on,
Thanks for the likes and comments, the crane is next.
Jacko
As advertised here is the crane, pretty simple build and very good quality,I decided to see if I could get it to articulate and pinning the joints and replacing the rams hey presto![]()
Bagged,
First fit and new rams,
Bottom ram a some pins in,
Jacko
And the last one with my UBRE,
I also used the SMM wheel set which along with the crane I can highly recommended![]()
Cheers
Jacko
