Alan Lancaster from Status Quo is dead

Just heard the sad news that Alan Lancaster, the original bassist and one of the founders of the legendary british rock band Status Quo has died today at the age of 72. He suffered for year on MS. Rest in peace “Nuff”! :cry:

Status Quo was my first favourite band and I have seen the original “Frantic Four” live in Hamburg in 1981. It was the first concert I ever went to. With Francis Rossi and drummer John Coghlan are only 2 members of the original band still alive. Rick Parfitt died in 2016.

If you have some time watch this concert from London in 2013, when the “Frantic Four” reunited for a tour and played the songs from their 1976 tour. That’s 90 minutes pure Quo!

Very Sad. I actually met Alan once here in Australia in the early 80’s. It was at a bank I worked in. It was not until I saw the ‘royalty cheque’ that I realised I was talking to THE Alan Lancaster… He didn’t much want to talk about Quo though… for obvious reasons.
