As I recall they are a separate billet, might have even been a separate MOS (job) for MSG - Marine Security Guard. I think it was a two year gig that can be part of your enlistment. I recall when I was recruited that was an opportunity pushed to me. I don’t recall hearing about that opportunity once in the fleet at my unit. Later it is one’s career you have to do one of three separate B billets. The choices being Drill Instructor, Recruiter or MSG.

I know they defo had 2 year slots as the Marine did say that when I showed him around. Good info though … cheers matey.
