AMPS 2022 Show Announcement - Pre-Registration Now Open

Fellow Armor modelers,

We are less than 60 days until the AMPS 2022 International Show in Newport News, VA, April 7-9, 2022. There’s no stopping the countdown clock, so get that gloss coat applied, lay down those decals and, don’t forget to seal them again with another coat of clear gloss. Finish up those last touches to your builds and get psyched for a blowout AMPS 2022 International Convention. There’s still time to get that hotel reservation done and out of the way. Go to the AMPS homepage (amps-armor.org) and check out how easy it is to reserve your room on-line. And don’t forget: mention that you are with the AMPS International Convention

to get the room discount.

Pre-registration:

On-line pre-registration is now live and the AMPS 2022 Show team is encouraging attendees to take advantage of this time-saving option. Simply go to the AMPS homepage (amps-armor.org), click the link “Pre-registration is now open” in the lower left hand side and this will bring you to the Pre-registration page where you can begin the process. Pre-registration is a great way to take your time to record all your work on the model registration forms, submit them on-line and pay show entry fees at the same time. This allows you to skip the long registration lines at the show, drop of your entries with the Ramrod, go straight to the vendors, get to that seminar you want to attend or link up with some old friends while you hit the vendor room. As a reminder; there is a limit of only 5 entries for now. AMPS show team will re-evaluate this on March 1st to determine whether this number can be increased.

Vendor coordinator, Chris Graeter has sold 95 out of a potential 105 tables while Frank Froment, AMPS 2022 Show Sponsor coordinator (and Marketing Director) is working on obtaining several more corporate sponsors with currently 6 Platinum level sponsors committed to supporting the show which will make the show even sweeter. If you or your chapter would like to sponsor a category, contact Frank on the AMPS homepage.

Show Theme News. Don’t Miss It!

As you are making plans to attend the AMPS 2022 International Show, consider arriving at the show a day or more earlier to check out the amazing attractions and museums nearby. A huge favorite is the Mariner’s Museum www.marinersmuseum.org Here you can see a full scale replica of the USS Monitor you can walk on as well as original Turret and other artifacts from the original USS Monitor. Another museum worth visiting while in the area and represents our show theme this year (“Move It”); The US Army Transportation Museum www.transportation.army.mil/museum/. The museum is filled with fantastic exhibits and artifacts, and its easy to spend a day here touring this place. This museum is located on a Fort Eustis Military post so please visit the web site and on the first page review the “Access to the Museum “ section, especially if you are not a US Citizen as there is extra paper work involved that requires a minimum of 45 days for approval so please plan accordingly.

And don’t forget to select a judging shift or two when visiting the AMPS homepage (amps-armor.org). AMPS really needs everyone’s help on what is shaping up to be an AMPS Show for the books!

Till next AMPS 2022 Show announcement,

Model on!
