AMPS 2023 Show Announcement - Less Than 100 Days

That’s right modelers. There is less than 100 days before the largest gathering of armor modelers in North America and you don’t want to miss this show.

Take note:

How To Do Seminars: Visit the AMPS homepage for the signup sheet for the “How To Do” seminars. Remember, in order to reserve a seat in the seminars, you must either pre-register or pre-purchase show admission on-line.

Hotel Reservations: The rumor are true the Penn Harris hotel is booked solid, however the AMPS show team has secured a block or rooms at the Comfort Suites - Camp Hill - Harrisburg West, which is located just behind the Penn Harris hotel. Go to the AMPS homepage (http://www.amps-armor.org) and use the link and instructions for the Comfort Suites hotel which is also at the AMPS special rate of 129.00 plus tax per night.

Pre-registration: Pre-registration remains open and is the best way to avoid last minute paperwork at the show. It’s easy and hassle free. Since there can be a long line Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, feel free to bring your pre-registration paperwork and entries down to the Ramrod when the line is short. Your model will not be forgotten.

Judging: AMPS always needs judges to help at the show. You can sign up for a judging shift on the AMPS homepage (http://www.amps-armor.org) It will be a great way to help the show team and fellow AMPS members. And don’t forget: there are training modules on-line for AMPS Judging.

AMPS Officers’ Nominations and Voting: This year AMPS is voting to install following positions for a 2 year term beginning April 1, 2023:

  • President,
  • 2nd Vice President East,
  • 2nd Vice President Central,
  • 2nd Vice President Midwest,
  • 2nd Vice President West and
  • 2nd Vice President International

Nominations run from January 16th to February 28th.

Voting runs from March 1st to the 15th.

Visit the amps-homepage (http://www.amps-armor.org) to learn how to nominate a candidate or self-nominate.

Kit Donations: It’s no surprise the AMPS raffle is filled with a variety of great kits, tools, aftermarket items and reference materials. But this is only made possible by the generous donations of vendors, modeling companies and individuals. Review your stash and consider donating to the big AMPS raffle. Frank Ciccarella, AMPS Raffle Coordinator aka “Raffle King”, is busy coordinating with show vendors and manufacturers for kits, books and tool donations to make this year’s AMPS raffle the best ever. AMPS still needs your help. Donations of newer released kits, figures, aftermarket and conversion sets, tools and reference materials would be most appreciated by AMPS, Frank and most certainly, the lucky winner. If you cannot make it to the show this year but still want to donate, you can contact Frank at fciccarell@aol.com to coordinate getting your donation to him.

Until the next AMPS 2023 show announcement, keep the model bench warm and model on!
