AMPS 2026 International Show Announcement - 2 Months and Counting

Fellow armor modelers,

Well, hopefully all of you have finished digging out of snow and ice or enjoying sunny, balmy weather. In whatever environment you find yourself, a reminder that the AMPS countdown clock to the AMPS 2026 International Show is less than 60 days away. So, below are a few reminders to take note of as time winds down:

Hotel Accommodations:

While the Doubletree Hotel has essentially sold out, even after 2 additional room requests were fulfilled, the AMPS Show team was able to secure rooms at a hotel approximately 3 ½ miles away from the venue. The hotel is the Larkspur Landing South Bend, a budget option at just $115 per night plus tax. You can secure a room by using the link provided on the AMPS homepage (https://www.amps-armor.org).

PRE-REGISTRATION:

Don’t forget: pre-registration remains open until April 15, 2026. If you’ve never tried it, give it a try this year and find out how easy it is to fill out your forms in the comfort of your own man cave. Remember: your models don’t need to be completed before registering them. Once pre-paid, you can access your forms on the AMPS homepage (https://www.amps-armor.org) and record all the work included for each entry. Then simply print out all your forms and bring them to the show. Please note there is a limit of 10 model entries per modeler this year.

Raffle Donations:

It’s no secret that raffle time at AMPS draws a huge crowd, largely because there are many fantastic items on the raffle block that modelers want. Raffle items are made possible by generous manufacturers, vendors and AMPS members donating kits, aftermarket items and research items (i.e., books, manuals) to help raise funds for AMPS to host future shows and fund preservation projects. Consider donating newer, unbuilt kits, tools, aftermarket sets or reference materials to help make the AMPS 2026 show raffle the best yet. Contact AMPS Raffle Coordinator, Georg Eyerman to let him know what you would like to donate or with any questions.

Category Sponsorships:

AMPS is still looking for sponsorships in the “Best of’s” and most entry category sponsorships. Sponsoring a specific category or a “Best of” is a great way for you or your chapter to directly support the show. Visit the AMPS homepage, and contact Marketing Director Frank Froment with a message indicating what you or your chapter would like to sponsor.

ATTENTION:

Articles Needed: AMPS members; we need articles from you for the Boresight. Build blogs, vehicle/equipment historical research or favorite modeling tips that could benefit modelers would be a great way to share your modeling knowledge with fellow modelers. The Boresight team can help with any layout, editing, proofreading or picture placement, so there’s no need to panic. Contact Boresight editor, Shon Stephens with any questions you may have.

NOTE: All AMPS executive officers, including Georg, Shon or Frank can be contacted through the AMPS homepage (https://www.amps-armor.org). Go to the AMPS homepage and select “The Society” link in the upper center banner, then scroll to “Contact the AMPS Executive Board” and find the officers you wish to contact.

Till the next AMPS 2026 Show announcement,

Model On!
