Those front skirts wont last very long with that shape

The angled bits at the lower edge are probably “rubber” or something else that is flexible

Who knows? This is only a concept tank on paper. It has not gone further than that; basically a “Paper Abrams”.

I guess one prototype technology demonstrator has actually been built.

All we need now is a AM Trophy kit for the M1 and a SEP V3! RFM? Amusing, Dragon, please?

It’s still too cool for words.

Rolling paper

or maybe plywood?

I guess at least one prototype has been built since I was last tracking it. We’ll see if anything comes of it.

That will definitely be interesting to see.
The firing sequence was from a turret on a stand so the mobile prototype could still be a mock-up made with plywood or sheet metal

At this point in the design, production, procurement process, this could still be a what if project. I remember the XM1 project was not the final production version. So I am on the fence still.

Very surprising that a kit was made of this so fast. Very few details exist of the AbramsX and I tried asking GDLS and the US Army who both declined to give further information. One has to be at AUSA to ask questions, I guess.

It’s definitely welcome, sure, because it pushes the modern AFV timeline waaaaay into the present and the future.

I don’t buy or build modern AFV kits anymore, but I’m really tempted to pick one up! Even using that 30mm turret gun for a “What If?” technical pickup’s cargo bed for would be cool!

Now if they can make a GDLS TRX with MOOG Air Defense turret, StrykerX, and 105mm Mobile Protected Firepower tank. An Italian Centauro 120mm would be welcome too.

Furthermore, Sci-Fi kitbashing modelers now have a chassis that is manned with three in the hull and they can scratchbuild or convert their own turrets…or make an AbramsX APC or IFV.

We only have a few M1A2 SEP kits, there is not yet a SEP 3 or an SEP 4 version. I would think they would be a surer thing over time compared to a maybe it will look like this if / when produced. Personally, I am thinking the drone wars threat will cause at least some external changes before going into active service. I have been wrong before, however…

I was hoping we would have a 3d printed one available by now (Trophy Kit). I once stumbled onto a 1/72 scale 3d printed Trophy add on for the 1/72 Abrams. Cant find it now.

While I agree with the need for the SEP3 and SEP4 in 1/35 styrene, I think this is one of those cases where the Rule of Cool applies. It’s just a really neat looking vehicle in a hobby that sells an awful lot of sci-fi and paper panzers.

Here is one in 1/16 (3D print). Someone please make it in 1/35
