Amusing hobby Leopard 2A RC 3.0

Im about 90 % complete on Amusing Hobby’s Leopard 2A RC 3.0 and notice a major flaw in the kit i found out by looking at pics of th real one from Eurosatory
it appears that Amusing hobby used their Leopard 2A8 as the base when they should have used a Leopard2A7 Im not sure i can fix the issue
seep pics
1st pic is the real tank notice the left rear hull in the first pic then notice the same are on my build

I can’t tell from the pictures; what difference do you see?

the rear hull is built up on on the left rear hull
look at my build and look at the pic of the real tank look at the rear hull above the drive sprocket and last 2 roadwheels

I believe you, I just don’t see it. I have both kits and an A7 in my stash someplace; If I can find them I’ll look for myself.

look at the rear of the hull in this pic its more clearer then look at the bulge on the rear deck of my build
look at the second pic of the left rear hull
Now do you see it?

Do you mean that on the real tank, the rear side is one plate with a straight upper edge, while on your model it has a slight kink in the upper edge and a line running just below that edge?

I’m not up to speed on these Leopards (anything after early 2A6 or so is too new for me ) but it looks to me like if you were to remove everything above that line, you would have the 2A8 plate? So: is the whole engine deck above that line, or is it a raised thing that sits on top of the engine deck there? I can’t quite tell from your model photo.

Straight line along the top edge of the vertical plate.

No step at the top of he vertical plate, top edge is two straight lines isntead of one.
Distance between top edge of the little hatch and the top of the side plate.
Is the step (light green arrow) intentional in the kit or does it only look like a step?

Notice the raised rectangle by the left (top in this view) side of the
engine deck.

Leopard A7 by RFM (didn’t find Amusings A7)

However, Perfect Scale has a conversion set to turn Amusing Hobbys
2A8 into a Danish (DK) Leopard 2A7, this set does NOT remove the left side
hump from Amusing Hobbys 2A8.
Could there be a case of continued development where the real objects
change while the model manufacturer is busy making a mold for the object
they took photos of last month?

Engine deck from Mengs A7, no left side hump ..

This is typical Amusing Hobby. They use whatever they have in the pantry and cannot be bothered to cook anything better. That’s why they’re Amusing.
Look at it another way. This tank is just a demonstrator - a one-off - at the moment. Amusing have produced another paper panzer, something else they do.

i went on line and looked at pic of the real tank that was on display at Eurosatory in paris
and that’s how I found out about the issues with the model they didnt even supply a decal sheet for the KNDS on the front of the hull

It’s looking good.

Thanks here is a pic of some other tweaks I did
