One side done. It will set overnight and then I’ll add sandbags, etc.

Those cages look great but keep in mind they couldn’t be welded to the radiation liner so I’m guessing were fastened in some other way or welded to the turret through holes made in the liner.

Continuing with the great build Dan, and really like those sand bag cages … nicely made and looked well bent up as well.

I thought about that but can’t figure out how the bars attached.

Thank you much, I had a hard time getting them together!

Just a thought but the tabs I can see in your photos are all very near seams in the radiation cladding sheets , maybe modify them to appear to be inserted through the seams to the turret armor ? Still looks great and I suppose it would also be easy to hide those tabs under the sandbags.

I’ll look into your idea and see if I can find some more photos.

Wonderful scratch-building work Dan- as you said it does not look like easy work but it sure does look good.

Thanks, building a beat up 72 has been a modeling goal.

I’ll let this side dry now.

I have two options for tracks-the kits and Trumpeter’s set. Both seem to be about the same size and quality. I’ll try the kits first and don’t like them will try Trumpty’s.
AMs are brown.

Pins slide in nicely.

I dip the pins in the paste to keep the pins from falling out.
