Amx-13 idf

This is the Takom AMX-13, which I built as an IDF vehicle. I replaced the tracks with a set from Masterclub.

Excellent job Jay. I have one of these AMX-13s from Takom in my stash. Are the kit tracks bad?

The tracks aren’t bad at all. The kit was gifted to me and came with a set of aftermarket tracks, but when I was about to install them I realised they were the wrong type (they were the ones with rubber pads). Since it’s damn near impossible to put the kit tracks on with the fenders already in place, I decided to get some workable tracks. But the kit tracks will do just fine.
And the tracks with the rubber pads have given me a great excuses to get another AMX-13 for those

Your model is very nicely painted.
The problem with Takom IDF AMX 13 is that Takom has not represented all the specific features. For instance, the IDF tanks were early ones so they should have the first type of auxiliary sights, bolted roadwheels, the long legged gun travel lock, the mudguard at the front of the hull should not be present, the aerial bases should be different, the headlights were single lights and not paired.
