Another Shelf Queen - AFV Club M1130 Stryker

Im eyeing the Trumpeter m1130 Right now because i found a good offer on the big eduard photoetch Kit. I wanna try the slat armor.
Also the m1132 seems decent or does it not?
What do you think of the m1130 and m1132?

They’re okay kits, especially if you’re going all out on photo etch.

If you’re going for the M1130, I would advise you to get the AFV Club.
Maybe the PE set will enhance the Trumpeter lack of details.

The M1132, I have both the Trumpeter and AFV but haven’t started them yet.
I want to finish up the M1135 first.

So far I haven’t had the “horrendously bad” kit from Trumpeter.
But I agree with you, AFV Club are much, much better kits.

I would get this kit along with the M1130

Which consists of several pe sets. I think its gonna be more PE than plastic at the end

AFV Club made the model form a vehicle at JBLM. The dimensions are close to the real one. Trumpeter hull is too wide and too short. Details are very crude. I build a dozen Strykers and can tell. Also AFV Club upgraded their kits continously.

All of my initial Stryker photos were taken at JBLM in 2006, and continued over a few years there. My walk arounds of the various models finally exceed 1100 images. Until a few weeks ago. I now have a walk around of my latest endeavor. I believe it is based on the M1126, which I’m using as a base kit. At any rate, here’s a photo of the rear ramp compared to the kit that came out in 2007. I’d say they were pretty spot on.

The kit just needs the added armor plates that came later.
The AFV Club kits are more accurate.
