The US Army Ordnance team would call that an (my bad!) M4A1 (76)w HVSS. No E8 on the data plate!

Should be a great build!

The U.S. Army had stocks of these M4A1 w HVSS mothballed in Japan at the start of the Korean War. They were all mobilized very quickly.

Matt: I don’t think many of the M4A1 HVSS were in Tokyo and mobilized for Korea (if any). They were M4A3 76 HVSS.

The M4A1 76 HVSS were stateside NG trainers and many went to European friends as MDAP

Roy, I remember seeing rows of them in storage in photos and I could swear it was Tokyo. I must be mistaken. Sorry for bad information. I’ll have to check a couple of books again. Thanks for the clarification.

No, they wouldn’t, because it has a cast hull that makes it an M4A1

I claim dyslexia! You’re right
It is an M4A1 (76)w HVSS.

Only six easy 8 (sic) were built.

Actually according to the Son of Sherman Book
They made
1944 = Built 210
O1/ 1945 + Built 600
02/ 1945 = Built 625
03/ 1945 = Built 30
That is if I am reading the charts on Sherman Production. Correctly.
Anyway the Kit is in 1/16th. Scale and made by Trumpeter
I have it ordered from Lucky Models, I hope everything works out for this is my first order from them.
They have it listed for $122 U. S. with about $103 U.S. for airmail I got a discount of $24.60 from them . My total with the charges from Pay Pal came to $209.65 wich is a lot lower than the I LOVE Kit M4a1 ftom Sprue Brothers which was about $250
Anyway If and when I get it I’ll let you know.

Only ONE M4A1 E8 was made (per Hunnicutt). ALL the rest have (in this case) M4A1 (76)w HVSS on their data plate.

Speaking of nothing, those boogies in the box art have a bit of a Valentine look to them.
