Armor Internals heaven

Hi folks, If you’re really into armored vehicles, you really should be watching the Australian Armor Museum’s ‘Workshop Wednesday’ videos on YouTube. Much of what they work on is German armor. Right now they’re rebuilding a Wespe - taking it from a rusty scrap heap, piece by piece, to a museum quality, fully accurate vehicle.

They’re also working on a Stug, and last month they finished a Panzer II.

You’ll get to see every nut and bolt, as built. Great details for fully accurate model building.

And the more of us who watch, the more they’ll be able to do.

I’ve been watching their video on YT for years now. I’ve been glued to it with their current Wespe teardown. Same with the Stug III.

Yeah I watched the Stug job. Outstanding

The whole set of videos on the teardown and rebuild of the transmission and differential was amazing, both to see the sophistication of the initial design and construction, and the skill with which the OzArmour crew stripped them, cleaned and refurbished them, and reassembled everything to a functional state.

I concur Sean, fantastic how they go from one stage to another considering the shape it was in!

Watch it religiously! Best darn YT channel out there. Mr. Hewes is also a lot of fun. Please feel free to make any other suggestions!

Two other excellent (IMHO) YouTube channels with more real armor details are:

The (British) Tank Museum https://www.youtube.com/@thetankmuseum

The Chieftain https://www.youtube.com/@TheChieftainsHatch
(especially his older videos where he produced the ‘Inside the hatch’ walkarounds of famous vehicles)

Ralph, I’ve been posting links to a lot of their Workshop Wednesday videos but it seams not many here are that interested.

Don’t forget the videos he did for the ‘Inside the Chieftain’s Hatch’ category for Wargaming.net for World of Tanks, which are under their channel.

Or, like me, already follow that channel religiously…
