Hi! I rediscovered my interest in modeling a year ago, after a break of about 35 years. I’m currently working on a Rye Field Model RM-5011 M1 Assault Breacher Vehicle in 1:35 scale. It’s almost finished, but I decided to add some detail. Unfortunately, I don’t have any official ABV reference photos. I did some detailing by looking through some official photos and videos from the internet. Does anyone have reference photos of this vehicle that show more detail? Below are a few photos of my ABV.

Big thanks to 18bravo — his reference photos of modern vehicles (and plenty more) are just amazing. I’ve just received over 500 high-res shots of the ABV M1150 from him, covering every last detail. I’m seriously impressed — these will be a huge help when it comes to detailing my model.

Hey All,
Has anyone considered, or actually made, a diorama of the RFM Assault Breacher Vehicle, with one of the Mine Clearing Line Charge (MICLIC) ‘missiles’ being shot out of its storage container? After watching a few videos, the idea occurred to me that such a diorama could be really amazing, if done carefully and well. Over the years, I have seen dioramas of other tanks that depict their main guns having just been fired, and the puff of smoke from the barrel being simulated with cotton balls or similar and then painted in various shades of grey, and some reds/oranges to show the flames coming out of the barrel. I wonder if something similar could be done with respect to the Mine Clearing Line Charge (MICLIC) leaving the vehicle. Any thoughts? Thanks.

A rod hidden within the charge bags (Milliput?) would do it. Certainly not all of the bags, as that would be one gi-normous diorama. There’s a pretty good flame signature right at launch, but after that, not so.
And of course whatever your chosen method for smoke is.

Thanks for the ideas!!! Yes, I certainly wouldn’t want to model the entire string flying out of the container. I was thinking something more like the first few milliseconds after launch, where the first part of the unfurling string might be as long as the vehicle itself, and the height be about the same, that is, about as high as the vehicle. I think that would get the point across without getting too stupid!!
