At the Frontline in Thuringia, Germany | US Army Raw Footage shot in March & April 1945

Excellent color film of US armor. Sherman Jumbo, Sherman’s with 75, Sherman 76, Sherman T34 Calliope & Pershing !

Just one sample of the cool Sherman contents…

Maybe be the 11th Armor Division per comments.

March & April 1945. Part of thr US Army’s Special Film Project 186.

Its the 14th Armored Div, as you can see from the unit codes on the gun tube.

Oops, I spoke too soon. There are indeed 11th AD vehicles here as well. Maybe lots of units. Great footage.

There’s some 14th Armor Division, obviously and I missed the markings on the barrel. Thanks.

Special Film Project 186 moved around so there is a variety of locations & divisions.

There’s a lot of 11th Armor Division vehicles shown around 5:45 to 7:45. Even 3rd Armor Division too.

Early in the vid, 1:15, or so, some soldiers are talking to a german prisoner. One of them, possibly an interpreter, has a 9th armored patch on the shoulder of his jacket.

Very nice video. Thx for the link.

I think he’s an officer based on the helmet.

Couldn’t help but smile.
