Avoid luckymodel.com

Two weeks ago I made and paid for two orders with luckymodel.com of about 40 items altogether (4 model kits with some paint and minor hobby supplies) before I flew to Hong Kong for cheaper shipping (as they are located in Hong Kong). All items were shown as in stock when I ordered. Two weeks after I placed the order, only about 10 items of lesser importance are shipped. I check the website and the running order list flagged some items as ordering while some other as holding for incoming order items. I contacted them through their website, asking when are they going to ship me those remaining items, it was then they told me those items flagged as on order they had no stock and do not plan to carry them anymore! I was so angry as I have waited for 2 weeks for these items, I had only another week in Hong Kong before I depart. I asked why can’t they let me know earlier about those items they had no stock and do not intend to order so that I could make other arrangement, they just respond that I could ask for a refund, which I then ask for. Later their system flagged my support ticket as complete, but they had not even refund my order! When I ask, they just gave me a response that it is in the process. I have waited another day, no refund, my message not even being read!

I checked some other modeling forums and some online rating site and read that there are quite many people who had similar experiences like me, they waited and waited still no refund, and worse of all many incidence happened in 2025!

So, I am now filling out bank forms for chargeback…avoid Lucky Model at all costs

Hong Kong’s postal service has just announced that they’ll stop shipping packages to the US as of May 2 in response to Trump tariffs; any chance that this is affecting your order?

No because it’s local shipment

Lucky has a history of listing items in stock that are not, and will sometimes never be.

FYI - Lucky Model has a few different warehouses around the world. Looking at the left screen for a location, a person could avoid some tariff and other shipping issues.

I clicked on the Canada local stock link on the left and a handful of items came up. I then tried the search function top left with Canada and In Stock and only one item came up?

The website gives me the heebie-jeebies. I’ve always been a bit weary about sites that have a ton of photos of almost every product imaginable but when you click, it’s not in stock and based on the item it hasn’t been for years and years. Search engine click bait.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I bought from them a few times before COVID, no hassles at all.

The office address listed in their website is less than 30 km from me and we are in the same city. Their system showed they shipped a package more then a week ago, but still it haven’t reach me yet. This is way below the usual efficiency of business operations in Hong Kong.

I called the number on their website. No one pick up. Left a message

It appears as though other businesses are noticing the same. Found this on another site today…

Speaking of items being shipped or not, has anyone been experiencing more bizarre routing from the USPS?

I ordered an item from a guy in Poland. Four days later he sends me a coupon for my next purchase so I use it right then for another package.

The second package arrived in just 8 days after ordering. Meanwhile, the first package – WHICH ARRIVED IN THE U.S. THE SAME DAY!!! – arrived at my local distribution center the day after I received the second one and has been jockeying back and forth between two post offices each less than 45 miles from me while tracking just keeps saying, “Delivery delayed.”

This has been happening a lot in the past year; at least for me.

I have an EvilBay package that got to the DC post office hub near me and has now left for Philadelphia and that the second one to go crazy in a few months.

I have been advised by USPS that in some instances, a specific hub, somewhere may process your package oven though it’s not on site. Tracking however will show it at that location making for quite a route pretzel.
