Top notch quality kit …
Sigh …

The view ports seem to be rather thick, compare with this:
I would try rubbing the backside against a fine sandpaper to thin them down.
It might be possible to coax them into shape when they are thinner.

Rubbing backsides, yeah I think I can get with that.
Oh wait you mean the backside of those view port parts!
Yes, that’s also a great idea that I can certainly try ![]()
So far this is working. I don’t have a fingerprint on my left index finger anymore but I didn’t need one anyway. Besides this is important stuff man.
Aha so you’re the mysterious left-handed mastermind behind the Louvre heist. I’ll take some diamonds to keep quiet – I can see a chip of one in that last image.
I’ve been lurking on this one, long ago I built the straight armoured car version…wasn’t even worth blowing up so I binned it, but you’re turning a sow’s ear into…well something much better, nice work!
Wasn’t me. Don’t know what you’re talking about ![]()
Thanks for checking in and for the kind words.
View port parts thinned and bend over a smaller radius wooden dowel. now they fit the turret perfectly. Just need a little cleanup once the cement cures. thanks for the tip, @Uncle-Heavy
A few more details and cleanup. Then it’s ready for primer and a coat of base color.
Hmm - I guess that depends. How forgiving would cutting the hinge and resetting it be? That is, if it’s delicate, maybe leave it alone, shave off the little hatch/? and make a new one using evergreen?

Since the kit already has some flaws …
I can’t guarantee that the turret top in this photo is a BA-20
@Stickframe @Uncle-Heavy Thanks for the suggestion replies ![]()
Looks like I’ll shave off and replace it slightly forward and port of its current position.
In keeping with the railroad theme of this project I installed the lights like a switcher. Ok, NOW it’s ready for primer. Maybe tomorrow afternoon because I need to clean up the mount for the front right fender light.
Working on the head lights. Reflective parabola is from a sequin and the lense glass is punched from a product package.
The translucent product package lenses have carefully scribed lines. After they are inserted into light bezel they get a top drop layer of Micro Krystal Klear.
The other light had a tiny drop of clear red over BMF.
KoSprue1, fun watching you hack away and build such a cool model.
