Yes, the contract is for the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicles (AMPVs); a.k.a. turretless Bradleys, that are replacing M113s across the Army.

Saw one at Ft Stewart last January.

Looks good. I am hoping some model company (Meng or Magic Factory?) come out with one before I end up scratch/converting one. I know, I know…if/when I do, one will come out from one of the companies right after.

Well then do get it over with, won’t you Gino?

I’ll stay mum one this topic though.

The kit maker can really surprise us modern AFV modelers with an AMPV with Moog C-UAS SHORAD turret.

Or an AMPV with unmanned 120mm mortar turret.

Of course more research is required to enact these turret options. All these are prototypes for US Army testing and to showcase the adaptable turret ring on the AMPV.

Nonetheless, a very welcome addition to modern U.S. Army AFVs, even if the “Plain vanilla” AMPV APC version is produced without any weapons turret and just a .50cal armament. At least AFV modelers don’t have to wait years for a 1/35 AMPV kit. The 1/35 Magic Factory Next-Generation U.S. Army infantry soldiers with IVAS should pair well with this kit.
